Consumer Protection Official Blasts White House Privacy Proposal

The White House’s proposed Consumer Privacy Bill of Rights, released on Feb. 27, drew immediate fire from both tech companies and privacy advocates. Now it’s taking heat from closer to home.

Speaking at a conference for privacy professionals last week, Federal Trade Commission officials Jessica Rich and Edith Ramirez said the bill was neither clear or strong enough.
