Windows 10 collects and shares more information about your personal information than any previous version of the operating system. Microsoft has gone on record and said that Windows 10 data collection cannot be stopped. An article in The Windows Club web site claims that, despite Microsoft’s claims, a variety of software tools are available to reduce the collection of private information. None of these will totally stop all privacy invasions by Microsoft, only reduce the amount of data being collected.

I don’t know if the free upgrade offer is still in effect or not. The article was written August 3, 2016 and it was still in effect then. It’s worth a try.
