Microsoft releases new Windows XP security patches, warns of state-sponsored cyberattacks stopped issuing security updates for Windows XP in April 2014… until now. New attacks on all versions of Windows have made millions of Windows systems insecure, including Windows XP.
The latest attack is the WannaCry malware. At least 75,000 computers in 99 countries were affected by the malware which encrypts a computer and demands a $300 ransom before unlocking it. The latest patches from Microsoft will block the current version of the WannaCry malware.
If you use Windows, even Windows XP or Windows Vista, update your system to the latest security patches now!

The WannaCry malware apparently does not affect Linux or Macintosh computers.
