Congress is About to Vote on Expanding the Warrantless Surveillance of Americans

Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act has been abused by the intelligence agencies to spy on Americans without first obtaining search warrants. The the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court ruled that such warrantless searchers were illegal and the NSA supposedly halted the practice.

This week the House of Representatives will vote on a bill to make that legal. The bill may be voted on by the US House of Representatives as early as Thursday.
