Are you using the privacy-enhancing DuckDuckGo search engine or are you still using the privacy-invasive Google search engine? If you replied, “Google,” you need to read an article by Natasha Loma in the TechCrunch web site at: https://tcrn.ch/2CElfTJ.

The chances of DDG being a honeypot are massive since they don’t open source their data and the founder has a history of selling user data. They are also hosted on Amazon’s servers, which is arguably just as bad as Google at tracking users. I use Jive Search, which is basically an open source version of DDG. There are others like YaCy that are also good.

Many security experts have examined DuckDuckGo’s operation in great detail. The consensus is the exact opposite of what you described.
