The security and privacy problems of most of today’s text messaging apps have been well documented in many places, including in this blog. Now Chris Ip has published an article in the EnGadget web site that compares all the more popular text messaging apps side-by-side, describing the strengths and weaknesses of each one. You can read his article at: https://tinyurl.com/privacy190829.
NOTE: Read the description of Signal closely. Please note that Chris Ip writes, “Pros: The highest standard of security features, including end-to-end encryption and metadata protection.” None of the other text messaging apps mentioned in the article have such a glowing description.
Signal handles text, voice, and even 2-way video conversations. Best of all, Signal is also available free of charge.

Be sure to check out Idka as well. Encrypted chat is just one feature in an integrated solution with newsfeed, notes system, and built-in cloud storage. Just thought you might like to know.
Thanks!
