  1. Don’t be too quick to delist yourself. Genuine companies still search for living heirs to estates. They never ask you for money and most are handled by attorneys. You think you know all your ancestors, but normally you will not have heard of the deceased person who left money because it may be a single or widowed sibling of your grandparent, a person without children, who therefore was not talked about to your generation. Yes, I am a probate genealogist, paid by lawyers to find missing heirs. And, I hope a searcher will find me some day (smiles).
